Transcendental Sonnet #650:
Destination Now

Surely we never would have come this far
Nor ever would this our journey have been
Unless we were led by destiny's star

Surely all these our adventures must mean
That something greater sooner or later
Will bloom and is already budding now

That it will all make sense someday somehow

I need not doubt I must not fear for here
All questions fade to insignificance
In your arms are the answers to be near
You the proof that nothing is left to chance
In this our journey in this love we share
The universe turns we join in the dance
Our destination now and we are there

Steve,

Nice flow, "old school" a dash of the romantic.

A worthy contribution to your next book wink.gif

Agreed, -J-. I think Steve's poetry is reminent of 'romanticism' poetry. You might even put it into a 'confessionalism' genre too.

It's nice to see you use a more lucritive line form in your poetry. You should post something on Poetry Critique. <evil grin> I'll save the rest of my thoughts. <smile> I'd even let you hack away at one of my poems in return.

+Goofball,

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. One sure to sit on the top shelf of your collection. Your passion and message are both incredibly clear throughout your poem. It is fluid and just fits well... all of it. It just gels. Nicely done. This is one that I would never get tired of reading. All of the pieces just fit. You have a great gift of doing that. Your writing just makes sense. Thanks for sharing it, sir.
