Once there was a man who had received a deadly arrow wound, if it was'nt removed soon he would die. The doctor approached the man, but the man did'nt want the doctor to just take the arrow out of him immediately. First the man asked who are you, who shoot me, when did this happen, how did this happen, and a series of other questions the man would have to have answered before he let the doctor fix him.
rhymer
If it was a deadly arrow wound he was going to die whether he delayed his help or not!
rhymer
Who created this world? No-one.
Does space have boundary? No.
What is beyond that boundary of space? N/a.
Does time have beginning and end? No.
What is beyond time? More time.
What is time? A human concept to allow categorisation of events and sequences.
Who am I? You are a human being who has been named Rajesh.
How do I exist? You were born of your parents and eat food and drink.
Why do I exist? For no purpose at all.
What is 'god'? A human concept to explain 'all that I do not know or understand'.
Does 'god' exist? Yes, it is all that you do not know or understand.
Where does 'god' exist? In your mind.
How do I access 'god'? Think.
If 'god' exists, who created 'god'? You.
Is 'god' necessary? Yes.
Is 'god' sufficient? yes.
Am I the 'god'? If not why can't I be the 'god'? You are not God, because you are not what you do not know.
What is death? The end of your life.
What happens after death? Life for others continues. You are quickly forgotten.
Are there other dimensions beyond my perception? It depends on what you mean by dimension.
I am conscious, but are the other people conscious or, are they within my conscious? Other people are also conscious. You are conscious of them, but they are separate from your consciousness of them.
Are inanimate objects conscious? No, they have no brain, lucky things!
Is my conscious(ness), the only conscious(ness)? No. We each have our own consciousness.
How do those who believe in 'rebirth' explain 'rebirth'? No idea!
What is 'enlightenment'? removal of a burden or the learning of anything new to you.
If the world is ‘illusion’ (as claimed by some) then what is real? That which exists when no human is present.
Why do seekers seek 'truth' (I thought whatever I perceive is true)? There is little point in accepting falsities, though most people do not face up to reality, preferring to live in a false, and what they think is a much more secure, world. Truth seekers anticipate what is to come and you can't do that if you live by falsities.
What is 'good' and what is 'evil'? A human concept. They are different and change with peoples and time.
Why do people associate 'god' with 'good' and not with 'evil'? God is portrayed as for the people whereas the devil is portrayed as against society.
Should I approach science or should I approach religion to find the answers? I suspect that science will never totally describe what we thin and why we think it, or need to think it. Psychology comes closest at the moment. Religion will fulfill the role for many generations to come, I suspect, because without pacifying 'reasons' to placate peoples need to know why things occur, there is discomfort and lack of harmony. Ironically, religion also causes such discomfort and lack and of harmony. But there is nothing better, unless the drug Companies come up with a super pacifier which can be introduced into water supplies without anybody knowing!
Why is science and religion always in conflict? One is based on fact, trhe other on thought.
Why does religion, which deals with ‘unity’, never brings ‘unity’? It does bring unity but not all the time.
Why is everything so complicated? Or, are they simple? It is not complicated. The human mind is just not sufficiently well developed on average to fit in with reality. We all should be striving to improve the lot of the next generation rather trying to compensate for the injustices applied to to previous generations. We should all look forwards, not backwards!
What is this humanity up to? It is still led by greed for selfish rather than Societal needs.
Does the humanity have clarity in what it is doing? No.
Does the humanity need clarity in what it is doing? Yes
Is everything fine? Or, is there something to be corrected? needs improvement.
What am I up to? Finding answers to important questions.
Should I be asking all these questions? Yes, as we all should be, and with a preparation to change our outlook - as long as everybody changes their outlook.
Why Am I asking all these questions? Presumably bexcause you ahve recognised that they are not already being being fully addressed.
Am I asking all these questions? Yes.
What if I know answer to all these? You are as intelligent as am I.
So what, if I do not know answer to all these? Then seek the answers.

All the best, Bill.
-J-
1. Who created this world? Not who, what ! The universe, along with countless of billions of other worlds
2. Does space have boundary? Yes, its outer edge, but this is a floating parameter.
3. What is beyond that boundary of space? More space that doesn’t contain any material from the universe at this present moment in time.
4. Does time have beginning and end? No. Only a beginning. You could argue that everything must come to an end but even though one thing ends another starts thus time will always be present in forward motion
5. What is beyond time? More time. ( we agree here Bill wink.gif )
6. What is time? A concept to explain the universe doesn’t stand still
7. Who am I? You are a human.
8. How do I exist? You breathe, eat, drink and think.
9. Why do I exist? You parents had sex, your mother became pregnant and gave birth to you.
10. What is 'god'? A human concept to give meaning to life, by constriction and rule
11. Does 'god' exist? Only if you want it to
12. Where does 'god' exist? In the minds of “god” worshippers
13. How do I access 'god'? Believe.
14. If 'god' exists, who created 'god'? Humans in ancient times and have been re-creating it ever since.
15. Is 'god' necessary? No
16. Is 'god' sufficient? No
17. Am I the 'god'? If not why can't I be the 'god'? You cannot fulfil any of the criteria needed to call yourself god
18. What is death? The next “phase” of “existence”
19. What happens after death? You become a memory in the minds and hearts of your loved ones.
20. Are there other dimensions beyond my perception? Yes, humans have a history of finding out things, so the likelihood of there being dimensions not yet within our scope of understanding doesn’t necessarily mean they done exist
21. I am conscious, but are the other people conscious or, are they within my conscious? The conscious of others are only in your conscious because you have made yourself aware of their existence, how much of your conscious is within them is questionable.
22. Are inanimate objects conscious? Yes, but not in the way you and I are.
23. Is my conscious(ness), the only conscious(ness)? No. We each have our own consciousness. (we agree here Bill wink.gif)
24. How do those who believe in 'rebirth' explain 'rebirth'? You come out of a hole, you are put into a hole, you come out of a hole, you are put into a hole, you come ……….
25. What is 'enlightenment'? The answer you were looking for !
26. If the world is ‘illusion’ (as claimed by some) then what is real? The world isnt an illusion, that is just a pathetic excuse made by people who cannot live in this hell like reality we call our world, as for what is real ? If you perceive something exists then it becomes real to you, just don’t make the mistake of thinking everything you think of as real is the only reality.
27. Why do seekers seek 'truth' (I thought whatever I perceive is true)? Because they don’t believe the answers they have already been given.
28. What is 'good' and what is 'evil'? Good and evil are two concepts on an ethical plane of existence.
29. Why do people associate 'god' with 'good' and not with 'evil'? I don’t know who these unfortunate misguided people are. God is supposed to be the alpha and the omega thus it embodies all things good and all things evil, so associating it with only good is like only knowing half the story.
30. Should I approach science or should I approach religion to find the answers? The answers to what ?
31. Why is science and religion always in conflict? One tries to disprove the other.
32. Why does religion, which deals with ‘unity’, never brings ‘unity’? It does bring unity, but when it was invented they didn’t know about everyone else so the unity is local as all religious faiths were meant to be localised to one specific geographical area, partly to maintain borders but also to install pride through identity.
33. Why is everything so complicated? Or, are they simple? Things are only as complicated as you perceive them to be. What is complex for one can be simple to another.
34. What is this humanity up to? Trying to survive as best they can
35. Does the humanity have clarity in what it is doing? No. ( we agree here Bill wink.gif )
36. Does the humanity need clarity in what it is doing? Yes ( we agree here Bill wink.gif )
37. Is everything fine? Or, is there something to be corrected? Fine ? Are you blind ?
38. What am I up to? Seeking like those seekers in your 27th question
39. Should I be asking all these questions? Yes.
40. Why Am I asking all these questions? Because you are searching for affirmation to your own perceptions
41. Am I asking all these questions? Not necessarily, you could be a spokesperson for a group
42. What if I know answer to all these? Then you are searching for affirmation.
43. So what, if I do not know answer to all these? Then read the answers you have received and ask yourself if what you have read suits your logic.

First the man asked who are you, who shoot me, when did this happen, how did this happen, and a series of other questions the man would have to have answered before he let the doctor fix him.

That was my final question.
What happens if I do not try to find answers to these questions?

Rajesh
Rhymer , -J-

You both have different answers to my questions.
I myself had different answers at different point in time.

My last questions is the most significant one.
I am not sure whether the last question was understood properly.

Is there a way to move forward without asking these questions?

rhymer
Hi Rajesh,

It would be good to see your answers too!

Re the final question - Moving forward presumably means understanding or answering the questions you raised and others which Science has not answered and which Religions have tried to 'put to bed' and thereby provide some comfort to those who are then satisfied. To understand that which we think we do not yet understand we have to ask questions, model scenarios and test what we come up with. It may well be that in the end we never do answer these questions.
The only alternative would be the 'New Coming' of 'The Superior' that has set these problems for us - hopefully with answers to all the questions [if exist].
Substance abuser#9181985
Is moving forward necessary to enjoy life, progression and regression are human concepts. If something is as further progressed as it can be, then whose to say it's short of something else.
Robert the Bruce
Most wise men have said something to the effect that every time they learned more they found more to learn. 'A wise man knows he is a fool, a fool thinks he is a wise man'.
-J-
Dear Rajesh,

I hate to be the one to tell you, but there are no definite answers to anything
only reactions to previous stimuli.

You have three sets of answers to your questions, you and you alone must decide if your own answers are the correct ones for you, or if the answers Rhymer and myself came up with have changed your perception.

No one can tell you what to think, they can only guide you based upon their own perception of a proposition.

Good luck in your search for truths.

In answer to your final question : its too late for the question, you have already asked the previous questions. For anyone to ask your final question, the answer is yes, of course. ( but your question doesnt raise the point how so I will leave that to your imagination ) wink.gif

Robert,

'A wise man knows he is a fool, a fool thinks he is a wise man'.

I suspect a better quote is:-

'A wise man knows that he knows not all, a fool thinks he knows everything'.
Robert the Bruce
Dear Rhymer

That makes sense and yet I think a really wise person genuinely knows they are a fool. There is so much to know and I really do think each door I open leads to many more doors and you will seldom find there are no more doors to open when you open just one door. Thus it is a geometrical cascade of ever-increasing awareness that there is always a LOT more to know.
Dan
Who created this world?
you

Does space have boundary?
no, but neither is space infinite in volume. an analogy is the surface of a sphere, which has no boundary and is finite

What is beyond that boundary of space?
n/a

Does time have beginning and end?
now is forever

What is beyond time?
n/a

What is time?
motion

Who am I?
the only one

How do I exist?
you just do

Why do I exist?
you just do

What is 'god'?
an illusory 'greater' being, sort of the 'eternal' authority figure (probably a psychological continuation of the proto-authority figures we experienced as children)

Does 'god' exist?
do you exist?

Where does 'god' exist?
where do you exist?

How do I access 'god'?
how do you access yourself?

If 'god' exists, who created 'god'?
you've always been

Is 'god' necessary?
as in, is 'god' a logical necessity?

Is 'god' sufficient?
is there pain and suffering?

Am I the 'god'? If not why can't I be the 'god'?
you are the 'god', you are it. there is no other

What is death?
the 'death' of the body is merely loss of memory. the ideal of 'death of being' is likely just a fantasy

What happens after death?
everything except whatever died

Are there other dimensions beyond my perception?
maybe

I am conscious, but are the other people conscious or, are they within my conscious?
either we are the same as you, or, this is all an enormously complex conspiracy meant to trick you into believing so

Are inanimate objects conscious?
it depends on how you define 'object'. consciousness is characterized by synthesis of elements into a simultaneous experience. A 'rock' as an object likely has no consciousness, but the atoms which compose that rock (or more elementary particles) may have associated with them some form of consciousness

Is my conscious(ness), the only conscious(ness)?
at the instant during which you might experience it, yes

How do those who believe in 'rebirth' explain 'rebirth'?
some kind of 'brain' (memory-storing object) that exists in other dimensions not perceived by physical science and maintains some element of a person's experience would not be destroyed when the ordinary body dies and would be 'reused' in a new body (reincarnation)

What is 'enlightenment'?
understanding

If the world is ‘illusion’ (as claimed by some) then what is real?
reality is that which does not respond to wishing

Why do seekers seek 'truth' (I thought whatever I perceive is true)?
they are seeking satisfaction of need, and understand 'truth' to be a means to that end

What is 'good' and what is 'evil'?
'good' is action that solves pain and 'evil' is action that creates pain

Why do people associate 'god' with 'good' and not with 'evil'?
if 'god' is 'good', then we have no worries. all is solved, satisfaction is at hand.

Should I approach science or should I approach religion to find the answers?
you should approach what seems to best answer your questions

Why is science and religion always in conflict?
'science' (as I believe you are implying) is the attempt to master control over the external in order to subjugate it to one's own needs, whereas 'religion' is the attempt to subjugate one's own needs to the assumed 'inevitability' of the external

Why does religion, which deals with ‘unity’, never brings ‘unity’?
because it is not good enough

Why is everything so complicated? Or, are they simple?
it depends on whether or not you understand it

What is this humanity up to?
nobody knows. but the individuals who comprise humanity are individually up to satisfying their own needs

Does the humanity have clarity in what it is doing?
not as a whole, but on the individual scale there is the possibility of clarity

Does the humanity need clarity in what it is doing?
if it ever hopes to reach utopia

Is everything fine? Or, is there something to be corrected?
is pain and suffering fine?

What am I up to?
finding satisfaction

Should I be asking all these questions?
according to who?

Why Am I asking all these questions?
because you are unsatisfied

Am I asking all these questions?
don't make me smack you

What if I know answer to all these? So what, if I do not know answer to all these?
whatever floats your boat

I can give an analogy:
When I am 10 years old, if I ask the question "How would it be to be 18 years old?"
This question is not really necessary in moving forward (in this case moving forward in time). At 18 years, I will know the answer, even if had not asked the question.

Is this ture for the questions I have asked?

Truth is a neverending quest and yes, there is no black and white TRUTH. We need easy answers to pass through the hoops of school and society (see Kaoru Yamamoto of U of Colorado on testing industry) but real creative and productive people like Bucky Fuller knew that to be complacent in the knowing of ANYthing was illusion or worse. He said whenever he felt that way he 'bit his tongue'.

I am more intersted in HOW (thats implied in my question).

I know what the question implied, but it didnt state it, in a world where precision is needed in the questioning to attain the correct answer, I didnt want to take it for granted.

The way forward without asking the questions is to actually experience life. The answers will come to you. If you look for them.

Your question about asking how it will be to be 18 when you are ten could be answered by looking at 18 year olds whilst you are ten, so you achieve you aim without actually asking the question.

The answers to your other questions could ( not necessarily would ) come by just experiencing life and making up your own mind. There is no better teacher than experience, but it takes far too long if you want the answers in a hurry. Looking at your environment and deducing answers from it alone isnt always the best way to go either, as a human you are constantly searching for affirmation of your own findings. The more people you ask the more information you have to work with and the more perspectives of the questions you can either relate to or disagree with.
Humans like to find out things by themselves, but once they have, they like nothing better than to ensure they are not alone in that thought and others can "justify" your own findings.

What is lost during death?

'death' as it is commonly observed is the disintegration of a brain. The brain is a structure which generates coherent states of perception and further maintains experiential threads via continuation of the brain structure. When such a structure is disintegrated, what is lost is the continuation of the particular threads of experience encoded into it, not the 'experiencer'.

Reincarnation is possible Iff (and this is a big 'iff') it is true that part of our 'brain' structures exist in a space that is outside the ordinarily observed physical universe and can be 'recycled' into new human structures (the old-school view would be a 'soul' being released from a dying person and subsequently reattaching to a 'vacant' fetus, thus being 'reborn').

ultimately there is simply the state of perception, which is dependant on the configuration of structure. who knows the possible extent of qualia in the direction of structure (probably is limited to all possible configurations of structure), and I'm guessing that the qualia of existence in the state of zero structure is not degenerate

is there any such thing as original sin?
Rick
QUOTE (Unknown @ Oct 03, 06:03 PM)
is there any such thing as original sin?

No. The concept of original sin was invented by clerics (or religious nuts, if you prefer) in order to obtain control over others.

One's purpose in life is what one says it is. Some purposes are better than others. One's understanding of one's purpose will probably change as one ages. Some will say that the best purpose is no purpose, but that's meaningless, isn't it?
