Fairy Dust

The mind is but the playground of the soul.
It will build a castle from fairy dust,
and pave its roads with gold.
On a whim it will tear them down,
and grind them under toe.
Perhaps to build of firmer stuff
if the heart will tell it so.
With time and luck it learns new ways,
and leaves the child behind.
But fairy dust and roads of gold
are always on its mind.

One for the Lovely Silke! 'O)

Down by the Water's Edge

A small little enclave
of fancy dress and fancy air's
A passion so hot
it boiled the sea
Down by the water's edge

There they stood
in rapturous embrace
Lit by the moon's
reflected light
Down by the water's edge

Once they were two
but now there is one
A solitary soul
searching for her love
Down by the water's edge

Ages have passed
but her spirit remains
Searching in vain
and searching in pain
Down by the water's edge

I didn't write this, she did.
Down by the water's edge.
