Scar-abian T-issues

Bare facts and dishonesty
Just rules and deceit
Humans striving for survival
In the soaring dessert heat

How many men, women and children
Have been affected by this war ?
It seems as if there will never be peace
As the latest ceasefire is broken once more

Icons of faith do many strange things
Easiest of all is to turn brothers against brothers
Too many small coffins being paraded down the streets
Filled with the tears of grieving mothers

A rock, a dome, a wall
All supposed to represent peace
You are killing each other over building blocks
When will the madness ever cease ?

Imagine sending your child to school
Early one weekday, without warning
The bus has a suicide bomber aboard
By early afternoon, your are already in mourning

Its hard to teach children these days
Books and money are in short supply
But imagine trying to teach these children
With the crack of bullets going by

Stop the hate, it is ridiculous
Too many dying, wounded and dead
Don’t destroy, rebuild the Arab nations
Show the world the true meaning of peace instead

You were the first great agricultural nations
Taught the world how to make bread
The only thing being taught to the world now
Is the ever increasing number of your dead

Turn it all around for good
No reasons for reprisals anymore
Stop burying yourselves and rejoice in peace
You have now, no reason to war

This touched me, particularly since recent events have left a conflicting passion warring within me. It is unfortunate that we live in these times of periodicals blood soaked and burning. Thank you for sharing your views in such a speaking poem.
