Transcendental Sonnet #620:
The Very Best We Could Be

Silke I will put your leather cover
On this the first copy of my book now
Muse of mine who inspired every word
Of this love story now it will be heard

Now it will be told the whole world over
That Silke and Steven prevailed somehow
That striving for the highest and no less
That struggling against utter hopelessness
That we have won that we are victors now

Nothing can hold us back now we are free
Erstwhile abusers look on helpless as
We soar transcendent over them to be
The very best we could be now it has
All turned out right at last for you and me
