Hmmm... I love that place, the "Post Your Poetry" board; remember me there? That became my home on the Internet, leading to my being here now with you as I am. Remember "This is the Hour When the Dogs Bark," and "L.A. Blues with a Side of Booze"? You were so encouraging to me; you really were a lifesaver, and I will always be grateful. You got me through the toughest times of my life, and I'll never forget it. Maybe I can help out there. Silke always enjoys the Quotes board; she would be a good one for that one, for either, or both. Let us know.

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, FedEx will bring me my book in its final incarnation. I'm really excited about it! Then a few days later I will get a box of several copies; I want to try to get it into the Orange Public Library. Silke sent me a beautiful leather cover from Italy, which I will slip on to my book. Cool. I will try to gather myself to go and do readings in coffee-houses, with my book tucked under my arm cloaked in Italian leather.

Shawn, I owe so much to you! Your "Post Your Poetry" board, this wonderful site in its entirety, always taking me in whenever I would get thrown off other poetry sites, creating and sustaining this ever-evolving, ever-improving forum here to be the equal of any VoicesNet or OpenMicProject anywhere, making my book possible... I just want you to know I am truly grateful to you, and that I am in unbreakable solidarity with you, always. You have really helped me in my life, changed my life for the better, and made a real difference. I will always honor you for that, and be proud to call you friend. Remember how I was first drawn because of neuroscience? I was someone who had suffered encephalitis, sustained brain damage, and had this strange obsession with trying to write perfect formalist poetry, and you were a neuroscientific researcher and poetry lover who had that "Post Your Poetry" board; it sure seemed like destiny to me, and it still does. Thanks, with all my heart, for the home which you provide for me within these pages.
