Wisdom is for the wise


It took me a while to realise
the lies that where living in me
that unless your true to yourself
rage lashes out blindly
and now i'm so much wiser
than the person that i was
and the beast raging inside
has put away her claws


Life is just a fleeting moment
and when your old and all alone
you'll still hear the same melodies
only in a different tone
wisdom is for everyone
the young and the old
when it seems the whole world is talking
the wise they withhold


People always have something to say
and something they want to shout
everyone wants to say something
until the truth comes out
then the silence rages like a river
that washes away the speech
and the only sounds heard
are the fading footsteps of the lies
they'll have to unteach


It took me a while to realise
that rage should be left to the waters of the sea
that the best intentioned whispers
can be heard if listened to closely
i guess we all learn our own way
and we all come to realise
that knowing is for the knowledgeable
and wisdom is for the wise
