Transcendental Sonnet #611:
Grandpa No Relation
Chief Al W. Graham, MCAS Yuma
I remember him as being rather soft
Strong but emotional and vulnerable
He was cuddly but he could lift me aloft
To soar safely in the very best of hands
I used to think to myself "he understands
Me" whereas all others found inscrutable
My esoteric and enigmatic ways
He was tender with me and that meant a lot
I carry his memory all of my days
In that crucified childhood the only spot
Of joy I ever had the only good one
Out of all of them he loved me he was my
Grandpa no relation wish I were his son
Why the hell does someone like that have to die?
