Heaven's embrace

Do not trust
(or you shall fall)
Do not love
(or you shall die)
Do not hope
(or you shall perish)

Yet of all
YOU I trust
YOU I love
I DARE to hope...

I will burn....
For these are my sins
Forever fall
From Heaven's embrace

Hi honey...

I have always loved this image; remember? It's one of my favorites. To me it's my Silkchen at the seashore looking across and thinking of me. We share those three shining things of which you write: trust, love, and hope; they are what keep us alive, these and nothing else.

Our trust, love, and hope are not in vain, and they are perfectly mutual: shared in synchronicity and equipoise. I love you, I trust you, I hope in you, every bit as much as you. There will be no burning. If anyone is to burn, it will be those who have hurt and broken you. As for you, my little buddy, you are going to always have a quite civilized old fella who really, truly, honestly loves you and cares about you. You can take it to the bank, baby! It's a sure thing, no worries.

I went to sleep like a stone on my couch with my cat on top of me, and my Internet connection was broken; you tried to call and the line was taken, but it was just Freddie Noodles and me asleep on the couch... you know how we used to say that fish were nibbling on the undersea cable; maybe space monsters like in The Simpsons (Kang et alia) were mucking about with the satellite. In any case, I'm here, and I love you. All is well. No hurt, no drama; your old husband is a kindly old German Lutheran poet fella who is crazy about you, and most tenderly devoted. I wouldn't hurt a fly, and especially not a fairy!

Nightmares are so cruel. What's wanted is for you to go to sleep in my arms every night, and I'll chase the nightmares away. Remember my poem, Lullaby for Silke? It says in there that when the cruel nightmares come I will swat them all like flies; well, some flies I WOULD hurt, eh? Nightmare-flies need not apply.

Honey, your wedding ring is in Sweden, and will soon be on your finger. And you yourself entire are in my heart forever.

I hope you are sleeping now, little buddy.

I will keep the night-watch here on my side of the sea.

Get all well and come over here and join me in this house I want to give you; it is "hot as a fritter" today, and I'm lovin' it. I have to go out in the yard with Fred and water my flowers now, but, just in case, I'll have my phone handy.

You're the best, Dr. Lance. I love you, and all is well.

*Sweet Kisses Without Number!*

SI! SE PUEDE!

WOW, I can understand how you feel in this poem. Sometimes our minds are telling us not to love or trust again out of fear of being hurt, but our hearts want to love SO MUCH and we dare to love again.
That is what keeps us going I believe.

Great poem!
Love,
Dara
