Why not a reason?
Or maybe just a sign...

Something that can calm
This fear of mine

Want to feel meaning
Needed and wished for

Something that can keep me
From opening that door

Empty promises filling my mind
Hope they’ll never seize my heart

They’re too absurd
They always been, even from the start...

Knowing the story behind this poem now as I do, I can see the complete meaning of it clearly; informed by the sad story of this day, I can see what you mean. At first, of course, I was worried-- even that maybe it had something to do with me! But I know now what it is about. If you feel like revealing it, I will leave that to you; suffice it to say here that I really do understand, and knowing the backstory can relate all too well from my own experience.

I love you, Silkchen, and I am praying that now you will be able to snuggle down and sleep, and not have any nightmares.

I will call you in the morning! I am really looking forward to hearing your voice again.
