Transcendental Sonnet #551:
Welcome to My Family
Of all the honors ever to have been
And which have come to me down through these years
The sweetest honor I have ever seen
Now at this late hour through the gloom appears
A sweet and tender girl gives me her heart
Complete entire and open offered free
We found a perfect love though yet apart
Today she joins herself by name to me
Somehow a lifetime's quest is at rest now
Somehow I feel that I have won the prize
Somehow I feel I have fulfilled my vow
Somehow I find myself in Silke's eyes
My other half the better half of me
My Silke welcome to my family
