i need you and i want you and i wish that i knew why
i need to hear your voice and see your face so time will fly
night time comes and here we both are looking at the sky
staring into space and watching shooting stars go by

i need you and i want you, i can feel you here with me
i look into your eyes and soak up all the energy
absorbing all you know and care for
the only person i'd be there for

i need you and i want you and my heart's about to burst
you look your best in my eyes even when you're at your worst
you can do no wrong, you're always right
sit on the phone, turn out the light and talk to me for hours

i need you and i want you and i know you want me, too
i'm never any better untill i can talk to you
staring into space and watching purple clouds go by
i need you and i want you and it hurts, i don't know why...

Very emotional. It conjurs up images of consuming love...love that devours both lover and beloved in the dark intensity of emotion....emotion perhaps fueled by the need for validation and verification....love which tries to burn away the emptyness and despair but will only............burn itself out...

hm, just some thoughts.

Hey, I really like this poem a lot.

It's definitely one of the better poems to come across the poetry board, and just the sort of poem which speaks to me. I like its musicality, its cadence, its openness and emotional availability. I can relate to the emotions and ideas pictured here, and they really are pictured, rendered visible by good and strong use of language.

Very nice!
