Waiting For Love


In a land far away there was a lovely lady who lived in a castle. She is dressed in a dark red silk dress that shows a large amount of cleavage. Her feet are bare and the end of the dress drags slightly on the ground. Around her neck is gold chain that hangs down into her dress. Her hair is pulled back with a red rose clip and a white rose baret. Her face has some makeup but not a lot. She is waiting for her beloved boyfriend.
Her beloved boyfriend is none the other Equis. He is a tall and handsome gentleman who rocks her world. She is hoping he will marry her. She begins to pace around the brightly decorated room. The room has rose petals scattered on the floor and candles give off a romantic glow in the room. The time slowly passes by and her love does not show. The lady begins to worry. "I wonder what is taking him so long" she says to her self. She stops pacing and sits on the couch.
The people outside of her castle begin to grow restless as they wait for Equis to arrive. One small boy is trying to climb the castle wall. He is trying to enter the castle. The little boy is the lady's brother. Who is called Arev. The lady begins to wonder if her new look is going to be enough to sway Equis. She decides to go outside and ask a few of the men who are waiting outside of the castle walls, how she looks. As she steps outside the growing crowd begins to grow quiet. It seems that her looks have stunned them. She casually walks up to the first guy.
"Hello, sir. Could I get your opinion on something?" She says sweetly.
The man stammers a bit before speaking. "Yes M'lady. What is it you wish?" The lady smiles and asks him how she looks. The man blushes. "W Well" he stammers. "You look beautiful" He blushes again.
The lady smiles and walks to the next man.
He replies with a stunned look, "Your wonderful, M'lady" She smiles and thanks the two men before entering the castle once agian.
The lady's aunt enters the castle. "Vera," she says. "you look beautiful. Just let me add one more thing". Vera's aunt pulls out a pink corsage and places it on Vera's dress. "There now it's perfect" Her aunt smiles and exits the castle.
"Thank you Aunt Yuri" Vera calls out. She sits on the couch once again and begins to hum her favorite song, When You Say Nothing at All.
Her brother finally finds a way into the castle and appears in front of her. "Sister," he says, "When do you think he will arrive?" He sits down next to her and looks up at her face.
Looking down at him she replies, "Well squirt. I'm not really sure" she frowns a bit and looks toward the doors, half expecting him to enter at that exact moment. But alas he does not and she looks back at her brother. "Do you know where father is?"
Arev looks toward the doors also and replies. "Yea he's outside waiting with the others. Would you like me to get him? She nods and he leaves shutting the doors behind him.
A few minutes later the doors open and a tall man in a dark trenchcoat appears. "You called for me daughter?" he asks as he steps inside.
"Yes, father I did" She pats the couch next to her indicating for him to sit.
He complies and sits down next to her. "What is it?"
"What do you think about me getting married?" she asks him.
He looks at her and smiles. "I think that is must be a choice that you choose. A choice the you know in you heart is right." He leans over and kisses her cheek.
She smiles and gives him a hug. "It is something I know I must do. I love him dearly."
He returns her hug and stands up. "I am glad to hear that daughter. I love you." He says as he heads toward the door.
"I love you too father"
He leaves and her mother appears. "Hello, mother" Her mother gives a forced smile.
"Whats wrong" Vera asks.
Her mother walks over and wraps Vera in a big hug. "Oh it's nothing, honest" She says with a quivering voice. She returns her mothers hug and asks her once again what is wrong.
"oh it's just" she sniffles. "It's just my baby's growing up so fast" Her tears begin to fall.
"Oh mother" Vera says her voice beginning to quiver also. "I will always be here." She gives her mom another tight squeeze and lets go.
Her mom looks at her while dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief. "I know, but it won't be the same."
"I know mother but remember you still got dad and Arev to keep you company."
"Yea I suppose I do. I love you Vera." She says and exits the castle also.
"I love you to mom" Vera whispers. As time slow creeps by Vera begins to get agitated. Finally unable to stand it any longer she walks outside. Standing out side are her friends Adi, Zed and Justan.
She slowly walks up to Zed and asks him how she looks.
Zed looks at her and is too stunned to reply. "So?" she asks "how do I look?" Zed continues to stare and finally replies, "Uh. You look sexy and" He stops in mid sentance. "Hey! What are you trying to do? Get me to think of you instead of Chobi
She giggles and tells him no. She moves over to Adi and asks him the same question.
His reaction is a bit different. He is standing there with his mouth wide open. She raises an eyebrow at him.
He closes his mouth abrubtly. "You look great" He says with a wide smile
"Thank you" She says as she gives him a hug. Finally she walks over to Justan. "Hello Justan" She says. "Could I get an your thoughts on something?"
"Sure" Justan says as he turns around. "What is it that you" He stops in dead sentance and whistles. "Damn you look hot!" He says as he whistles again.
"Why thank you Justan. That's just what I wanted to hear. Do you think Equis will like it?"
"You got to be kidding. He be so stunned he won't be able to move." He says with a snort. She giggles at this last bit and walks over to where her mother is standing. "Hello mother" she says.
Her mother tares her eyes away from the citys gates and looks at her daughter. "Vera, why are you outside?"
"I was bored and tired of waiting" She replies.
"Good. Good" Her mother says as her eyes revert back to the gates.
"Uh. Ok" Vera says as she strays toward the garden. Off in the distance she can see Adi doing something with his sword. All of the sudden a bolt of lighting shoots across the sky. Worried Vera runs over to Adi. "What are you doing?" She asks.
He turns toward her and smiles. “Just playing with the weather.�
“Well, you better not make it rain� She says with a stern look.
“Fine. I won’t�
“Good� She says as she walks off bored once again. This time she decides go and talk to Justan, but she sees her mother standing alone looking at the gates still. “Mother, why do you look at the gates like that?�
A bit startled her mother jumps. “Huh? Oh I don’t know� She gives a small smile.
Vera begins to look toward the gates also. “I wonder where he is� she mumbles to her self.
“Don’t worry Vera everything will be all right� Justan says as he walks up behind her. “He will show up eventually. You know he is training. I just give it time.
She looks at him and smiles. “Yes, I suppose you are right Justan.� Lightning flashes again and a light rain begins to fall. “ADI!� she yells. “I told you not to make it rain!�
Lightning flashes again and Vera is drenched. “Damit! This isn’t excatly the kind of dress you want to get wet.� She stomps off to her room. Her dress is soaked and quite visibaly see through.
“Oooo Adi Vera’s gonna kill you� Justan calls out.
Vera storms into the castle and walks up to her room slamming the door behind her. “Stupid men she mutters to herself.
Outside Adi is smiling as he lowers his sword. “I couldn’t reist� he tells Justan. “You probaly would have done the same.�
Justan smiles. “Yea I probally would have.� He gives Adi a high five. The two begin snickering as they plan on another attack.
Up in her room Vera quickly gets dressed up again. “ooo…I’m gonna kill that man� she says as she rips open her door and storms out side. “ADI. Where are you?!� She yells. “We need to talk right now!� She looks around and spots him leaing against the castle wall. She casually walks toward him. “So Adi� she says calmy. “You thought that was funny didn’t you. Well let me tell you something. You will not get awa..� She stops her sentence short as the gates of the city fly open.
Startled she looks toward the gates. A lone figure sitting on a white horse stand in the gates. The figure gallops in and jumps off his horse. He lands in front of Vera. “Well, who might this fair lady be?� He says as he takes her hand.
“Oh Equis!� She says and wraps him in a big hug. “I’ve missed you so much but we must talk. I’ve got something important to tell you� She takes his hand and leads him toward the castle.
“What is it my love?� He asks as he follows her to the castle.
“Not yet. Lets wait until we are in the castle. I don’t want anyone else to hear.� They reach the castle gates and enter. She takes him up to her room and sits him on the bed.
He takes a good look at her and hold out a yelp at her stunning appearance. She looks at him and smiles. “What is it dear?� She touches his face lightly.
“You..You look beautiful� He stand up and gives her a deep kiss. She returns his kiss and pulls back.
“Equis there is something I want to ask you.� She says with a quivering voice.
“What is it love?� He asks smiling down at her.
She gets on one knee and grabs his hand. “Equis, my love, will you marry me?� She asks softly.
Equis looks down at her startled. He kneels down and pulls her into a deep kiss. “Yes, Vera my love, I will.� He whispers as he wraps an arm around her waist kissing her once again.
The crowd outside lets out a loud cheer. They have heard the whole conversation through the open window. Standing outside the gates is Vera’s mother. In her hand she holds a damp handkercheif. “My baby has finally grown up.� She cries. “All grown up�.
