Lying amidst the crimson mass
Fist clenched, heart pounding
Eyes open wide and burning bright
Praying it's just a dream
There is no sound save the breath
And frantic racing of iced blood
Roaring, deafening, maddening
Freezing all that's left of life
A tremble from the core breaks free
A final light is flickering

Come bear your light
It's so dark here
I can't see to stand

Will me alive
I don't want to stay here
Give me the strength to fight

Cold steel breaks the pride
Wounded and faltering
Blade in a white fist
Soul tired of wandering
Only the warmth of the flames will revive me

Come bear your light
Demons scream my name
I'm nearly enthralled
I can't seem to turn away

Will me alive
I can't breathe here
Ignite the flame of my life
I don't want to die

So come bear your light
Darling, will me alive
I can stand if only you'd come
Hurry now, the day is nearly done

~Megan,a great poem!

Keep writing and posting.

Take care,

Yes, Megan, my wife is right; this truly IS a great poem, one of the very best I have seen on these pages. You really have a gift. May you NEVER be cured of the "incurable Romanticism" which I have seen you mention; I suffer from the same exquisite, ecstatic affliction, as does Silke. Keep dreaming! Keep hoping! Keep loving!

Please keep at it and don't ever give up. If I can ever be of assistance to you in any way, please feel free to ask me anything, and I will do my best to help.

AD ASTRA PER ASPERA
(To the stars through difficulty)

POST NUBILA PHOEBUS
(After the clouds the sun)

We are in unbreakable solidarity!

And just one more motto:

SI! SE PUEDE!
(Yes! It is possible! From Cesar Chavez and the struggle of the United Farm Workers)

Silke and Steven,
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! I don't know what I would do in this world if I suddenly lost the passion for writing that I have now. Having a mild case of writer's block can nearly cripple me! happy.gif Your support is appreciated more than you know!

~Best Wishes~
Megan
