Hi,

This is my second post here (first one is in introduce youself forum) smile.gif
So what do you use or suggest using before exams, business meeting or such activities that require high mental awarness?

I read that it's good to listen to some Mozarts music night before and to take complex carbs before exams. Since I had positive experiences with L-Tyrosine I think I would add 1-2 gr of it one hour before. Maybe some DLPA?
Also 200 mg caffeine and/or 25 mg ephedra could be added too. When I take it with Tyrosine I don't get nervouse and my heart rate is normal, plus it lasts longer and I have no crash like when using just caffeine/ephedra. Maybe some L-Taurine could be usefull too, to control heart rate, plus Calcium which has a calming effecet, so you get all the energy you need without rush feeling.

I just started taking SAN Neuroflow (daily dose: Choline bit. 700 mg, piracetam 500 mg, vinpocetine 10 mg and huperzine A 100 mcg) two days ago, and this is my first nootropic experience so I can't advise what of these or other nootropics could be added before exam.

All ideas are welcome smile.gif

how about vasopressin?

umm, what's huperzine (do you mean hydergine?)?

Well this Neuroflow is the first nootropic I use, so I can't speak how vasopressin works.
Huperzine A is alkaloid from some chinese plant that is said to enhance cognitive functions. You can find more here:

Although i personally avoid the use of drugs before exams, i have seen studies which suggest certain stimulants to be effective in memory recall speed and prescision. Amphetamine and caffiene are effective, however, i would not use very much meth as induction of certain euphoric dellusions could easily lead to decreased exam performance. Take heed of the methed up med student who spent the three hour exam time writing his name repetitively on the paper, after which he handed it in sure of passing with flying colours!

I would recommend vasopression, caffeine, pseudephedrine (the stuff in Sudafed; get the immediate release ones and not the sustained release, and go with the generic brand to save money), acetyl-l-carnitine (ALCAR), phosphatidyl choline (not lecithin, but the purified stuff), piracetam, hydergine, vinpocetine, and also, some dissociatives have a highly effective mental stimulatory effect if taken in low doses.

One of the best things is just to make sure you're fully rested. Get a good night's sleep beforehand.

Are any of these "smart drugs" available over-the-counter at most drug stores (in the US)?
