Frustrated Writer

Not sure how I stumbled in here, but am a sucker for thought provoking sites. By my name, am a frustrated writer...always enjoyed it...enjoy words and their use...the power they can have in expressing an idea....but ended up choosing a profession that was "practical". Always tinged with regret that I did not seriously pursue...with the number of writers reflected herein, it is both exciting and daunting. It has been so long since I actually sat down to write a poem, or anything creative, I am sure the rust will show through. The amount of good writing reflected on this site in some ways makes me feel betteer, because it shows how tough the competition to actually do this would have been...
All that said, I will see what develops...maybe I will be a happy reader of the work of others...maybe something will inspire me to write... in the meantime, greetings from the soggy NW.

Welcome 'frustrated writer',
I have no doubt you will quickly be changing your name to 'firstrated writer'. If you've done it before, then you have the skill. You obviously have the motivation, or you would not have joined us [welcome by the way] so all you need now is some inspiration, and that may come from anywhere!
Do enjoy yourself - just join in and have fun. If you have any problems just raise a post in help board.
I, too am from the NW; the NW of the UK.
All the best, Bill.
PS you can always send me a PM to see if I can help.

Thanks for the greetings as well as the kind words...I will try to not put too much pressure on myself to perform (bedroom is challenge enough, right?

) I will probably just start with a short essay or two and see what develops. I like poetry, especially when the author is able to use words to paint vivid visceral images, or to evoke emotion...but it's been so long since I had any exposure to the various "forms', that I am sure I could do no better than something that was free form at best... Anyway, thanks for the welcome, and I hope to contribute at some point...

By the way, what is the difference between a basic membership...and anything else. I assume$$...but how many, and what is the difference in level of service/options? Sorry if this is not the right place to ask... Thanks in advance.

hello Frustrated Writer, and welcome. As Bill said, all the details are essentially contained at
http://brainmeta.com/members.php . As a quick summary, there are two membership levels here: Basic and Full. The added benefits to Full membership over Basic include being able to customize the style of this site (background, fonts, colors), an email account with yourname@mind-brain.com, access to additional files on my laptop server, plus miscellaneous forum perks and other items described more on the membership page.
