Your journey has just begun, dear child, you’ll learn much as you grow, an amazing world awaits you child, such wonders to be hold. I’d like to offer you, dear child, these words I found so true, but to heed my words and to hear my voice is a path for you to choose.

Before you learn to run, dear child, take the time to walk, and before you learn to shout, please take the time to talk. Before you learn to quit, dear child, take the time to try, and before you try to soar, you first must learn to fly.

Fight, dear child, if you must but forgive them if you can, and learn dear child when to run or hold and take a stand. Before you smell the roses, learn to plant the seed and before you learn to want, dear child, learn how it feels to need.

Your journeys of your choosing, so much will block your way, but know this child the sun can shine on a rainy day. You’ll learn to find the light of day will replace the darkest night and you’ll learn dear child the roughest road has an end in sight.

So, before you claim to know, take the time to learn and before you find you owe, take the time to earn. Learn first how to pray, dear child, before you learn to plead, and learn first how to help or heal before you learn to bleed.

Before you learn to lie, dear child learn first to be true and before you learn to end a task, learn to see it through. Before you learn to take, learn how it feels to give and before you learn to die, dear child, take the time to live.

It’s time to end my rhyme, dear child, just one last thought to pose, is the path you’re traveling now the path of life you chose? Did your heart choose your road, the truth, deep down you’ll know, sweet child your life has just begun, I pray you’ll learn to grow.
