I dont know who I am or what I am
Is there anybody else here in this abyss we call world
Oh tether please let go
Let me be whisked off to another
How my heart yearns for a sword
This blade of salvation held within my grasp
How I burn to cut my cord to this world
How I wish to ride on into the flowing of a heavenly wind
Cut sword! Cut this rope of my despair

[sorry, long post, got carried away. not for the weak.]

I'm wondering if I should comment on the meaning of the poem and/or give my opion. I could just say "I LIKE IT, WEEEE!" and leave it at that. But I will run the risk of pissing someone off.

It's not uncommon to write about death. What do you write about? Well... I've heard their are several things that you can write about that have meaning: (1)Family, (2) Death, (3) Love, sex, and everything that goes along with that including romantic themes of course, (4) and friends. I usually don't write about death. (My psychiatrist would support me on this one. rofl.)

Nevertheless, death is a very real topic. It's innevitable to every living thing. Whether or not you believe in an after life is your business. But with respect to that, all we know is what we see in this life.

I encourage you to sink down into this mode of thinking. If you have to sink down so far down into this dispair that you think life is meaningless then do so. Go willingly. Edgar Allen Poe, and Virginia Wolfe for example sunk into these thoughts for most of their lives. Sadly, Wolfe killed herself, and Poe was an alcoholic.

The point I'm trying to make is that your sword is real. It represents a side of life that many have issues with but few want to communicate honestly about.

Write more. You may want to commit suicide. Even though I do not know you I think your life is worth something. Suicide is not an answer to a problem but a perminent escape from reality. I discourage suicide because of my personal beliefs on the matter. Even if you suffer all your life you are still alive. And what is there but life? What else do we know? You should know that I have writen poems similar to yours.

Most people committ suicide as they come out of depression. Suicide gives them hope for their life. I may have over analyzed a bit, (probably a lot,) but this is a real subject. Go deeper and know when you're ready to come out.

That's my opinion. I hope I don't push you over the edge or anything like that. I personally found something to live for. It took two and a half years but eventually I decided something. And that something to me was worth suffering the depths of hell.
