Transcendental Sonnet #483:
Perspective
What then am I and why do I try anyway
To make any sort of a difference down here
As a dark soul in a dark world in a dark day?
My meaning is relative to nothing I fear
And does anybody really care after all
As I fall between before and after the fall?
The only thing which I can do is to be me
And to wrestle with the angel as best I can
Only a determined resistance can free me
From being a hollow plastic corporate man
If there is any meaning I mean to find it
And then if I find it I will get behind it
A matter of perspective a way of seeing
To be no more nor less than a human being
