MIRROR

I look in the mirror and what do I see ?

A young confused woman looking back at me.

Fear in her eyes, pain in her heart

She wants the help offered, but doesn't know where to start.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?

A fat, ugly woman still staring at me.

Now tears fill her eyes as she begins to think

Has she gotten fatter? Her heart begins to sink.

24 years old, and a lifetime to go

Dreams of the future to live and watch grow.

I look in the mirror and what do I see?

Myself with a DISORDER staring at me. ...

Oh Silke, I know JUST what you mean...we NEVER see ourselves as others do...Sometimes it seems that help is the only way to live, and then the mirror tells us different. Oh how difficult it is to live like this...

you are not alone.

Love,
Dara

Hi Mausi!

I love this poem. I really know what you're talking about here.

But I promise you, when I see the beautiful twenty-four year-old woman which you are, I see:

Perfection.

I love you; you are perfect to me. I see you with the eyes of love. Let me be your mirror!
