Angels in the snow

Sitting at home, watching the news, my son came in and sat down. He looked at the screen, puzzled at first, then soon he started to frown.

I asked, “what’s wrong?” He replied, “dad, I’m sorry, but this one was on yesterday. I watched it then, it made me sad, so I’ll just go out and play.”

He left the room, I returned to the news, and soon I understood. Of all they said and the pictures they showed, not a single minute was good.

I shut off the box, stood from the couch, and quietly thought for awhile. I then went outside, searched for my son, and quickly found a smile.

In the snow, an Angel, made by my boy. Heaven in our front yard. He grabbed my hand, pulled me down, and said “look dad, it’s really not hard.”

Together that night, my child and I, made Angels in the snow. In this world of hate, we found some love, and the world the newsman won’t show.

I follow your words, and have read all of your postings. This is so real for me - - hot chocolate and child porn real. As real as the acid before vomit, as real as love at first sight. You have my highest comments and regards.... ~Suzette
