I asked you not to take him from me
I worked so hard to be with him, can't you see
it's not what on the outside that counts
but rather whats in

He's so good to me
why can't you just let us be
it it so hard for you to see i'm different
you can't shelter me from what i want

I don't need you in my life
but i need him and i can't stand being away

why do y ou have to take away all my good
But it's not like i didn't expect you would
I can't deal with you keeping me in this cage
let me be my own person and be with him


i did this in all of three minutes b/c i'm way pissed off at my father

The protectiveness (or perhaps, overprotectiveness) of a father is common, so I can understand your feelings, but running away won't change any of that. It's best to just stick it out and deal.

As a father, I hope my own daughter never writes something like this about me. It's obvious you're really hung up on this guy, and maybe, some day, your father will see why. But to runaway to be with him would only make it seem as if your father was right. My prayers are with you, and I hope for your sake, as well as your family's sake, you make the right decision.

And, by the way, I really enjoy your poem.

don't worry i don't plan on running away...but i do plan on staying with this guy.....but my dad was being very stubborn and won't even talk to the kid...just b/c he has dreadlocks and an earing! honestly anyways thank you for the compliments on my poems....and please keep and comments(even criticism) comming
