Pound of blood in the evening
Brushing sweat from cold lips
Face as pale as the moonlight
Fever burning like a demon's kiss
Adrenaline rushing and tingling
The blade is clenched tight in the fist
The end hovers nearer, but what will be left in the morning mist?

The darkness looms ever closer
The stance has been taken
The dementors laugh
There's coldness inside the hostess
A shivering, frozen place
The light seems so cold, the darkness so warm
It takes little courage to make the mistake
She keeps whispering:

"Don't believe in what you see.
It's all just fantasy.
Open up your eyes and breathe."

The blood seems so real.
She begins to quake.
Lifting up the cold blade,
Her breath starts to shake.
Her heart is athunder;
A frantic tattoo.
But dreaming or not, she refuses to lose.
She closes her eyes and continues to chant:

"Don't believe in what you see.
It's all just fantasy.
Open up your eyes and breathe."

Rushing black against the white
Stars consumed in hungry arms
She opens her eyes
The air breaks with a cry
Pain explodes as midnight screams

She lies in silence of the eve
The bleeding ground absorbs the tears
The blade is thrust within the earth
Her soul has aged a dozen years
Frozen in time, the stars still shine
She lifts her hand, stares at the killing thing
Dazed, her lips move to whisper the mantra:

"Don't believe in what you see . . .
It's all just fantasy . . .
Open up your eyes and breathe . . ."

This is so amazing.... You have such talent! I felt a shiver run down my spine when I read this... (and I read it about three times!)...

Please keep sharing your work... I love it...
