Hey I was wondering if any of you have seen the movie Waking Life. If so what do you think about it as far as dreaming, politics, or just the movie in general? For those who have not seen it i highly reccomend it if only to see the unique animation style (they filmed it and then "colored it in" creating a really unique and interesting effect).

i've just watched it, having failed to last friday when I invited a load of friends over for a video evening. Not the sort of film for this situation as I found out!
But i have seen it now, and I liked it, in particular the girl that Wiley bumps into and then proceeds to talk about soap operas and opens up for the first time. It reminded me how many of the conversations i hold with people are all just about nothing, very little is actually said although lots of words are being used.
The latter half of the film I found meant more to me than the first, maybe because the content was new for me?

Sorry about the long time for the reply. I also made the discovery that this movie isn't exactly for a movie night like that! The part with Wiley and the girl is also one of my favorite parts. The part where the guy sets himself on fire really got to me too. For me the latter half of the movie also meant more. The first half kinda spent more time setting things up i suppose. I'm not really sure what the phrase I'm looking for is. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've reccomended this movie to lots of people and I've found that people either really like it or really dont. There havn't been too many that are impartial.

I thought Waking Life was an amazing cinematic creation.....however, I think I would've been able to follow it more in-depthly if I had been stoned when I watched it the first time.
