Sometimes asking someone to see beyond their pain,
is like trying to spot the stars through clouds and rain.
If only we had ears to hear and less to say.
James 1:19 - "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:"
Sometimes telling someone how to make things better,
is like a sent envelope without a letter,
If only we had interceding hearts that pray.
Ephesians 6:18 - "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."
Sometimes trying to take away someone's problems,
is like pulling roses from the bush by their stems,
If only we had lives there still caring each day.
Romans 12:10 - "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves."
In love we reach out to be by one another's side,
through shame, hurt, pain and all;
In the shadow of our savior, Jesus, we can hide,
in His arms we can fall.
Isaiah 40:11 - "He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.
