Full Version: Life In Two Dimensions

I.

I am not your sister.
You are not my brother.
We are two blueprints
of non-fictional matter
exposed to elemental evolution
reconstructed every second
to encode a cellular memory
that supercedes life and death.

I am your woman.
You are my man.
We are meant to be together
as deemed by celestial fate
joined for all eternity
reveling in our love
lifetime after lifetime
superceding life and death.

II.

I am a mere vessel.
You are the catalyst.
We have only one goal; procreation.
We are here to verify
proving only our capability
to continue this programmed task
as members of a vast universe
in which choice is no option.

I am the breath of sunrise.
You are the sigh of sunset.
We meet in one another's arms
to become immersed in our souls
with the depth of our hearts
as we share our act of love
entwined as lovers we are one
as our choice is not our own.

III.

Our words are bullets
shot into the yawning silence
that is the abyss of space
thoughts only pinpoints of energy
undecipherable to alienable carbon
stumbling across charged ions
aimed at the end of the expanding universe
carrying forth a message in code.

We whisper words of passion
murmured as we explore one another's bodies
and the world revolves around us
as we gently move in rhythm
hidden from other's eyes
we relinquish our fears
to find the place where we are one
and our message is one of truth.

This is certainly one of the best things I have seen offered here.

Welcome among us. We are much the richer and the better for your being here. There are such lesser poets with such greater pretensions; you refresh me with this offering.

I offer you, in return, my unbreakable solidarity as a peer, and as a fellow poet.

Wow...

All I can really say is that this is a very good, very passionate verse. Excellent work!

Thank you Try for your word. Wow is a very telling expression. I hope I'm not amiss in thinking you liked it. It's my view on the two perspectives of the brain and how they interact. Thanks to you also Rose Diamond for you very kind comment. Life can be so very, very different from points of view can't it? What a very sad shame it might be if life were only for the sake of procreation. I will continue to live my life delusionally hoping that it is the other as well (if not more intensely) Good day...V

I'm reading through your back catalogue of poems, having enjoyed your most recent post. I'm very impressed, and can see why this is a personal favourite. I thought it was time someone reminded you of it again. Good luck with your writing.
