Transcendental Sonnet #443:
For Silke on Chemo

Now Silke we begin another round
Of chemo and another time of test
May every place where the cancer is found
Be healed completely and may you be blessed
My words of love in your memory sound
Your heart your breath at rest within your breast

Thinking of you dreaming of you praying
For you always during these lonely days
Keeping watch keeping my nerves from fraying
Here by hoping and believing always

I know with all my heart that you will be
My wife for life my best my dearest friend
And you will soon be free and safe with me
We stand at the beginning not the end
