Transcendental Sonnet #440:
Confessions of a Weather Wimp

In southern California I freeze
In February nor expose my knees
As the tourists do (I cannot can you?)
Until the weather gets a lot more warm

I hunker down and weather out a storm
The figment of my imagination
Garnering for me the indignation
Of northern eastern and more hardy souls

To me this place feels like one of the poles

It has not snowed since 1949
But when it gets to sixty then I whine
And I keep my huge furnace burning bright
Throughout the day and even more at night

I am otherwise bold but I get cold

Alot of your poems have a strange way of making me smile. I like this one, and i can relate because i don't live too far from you. It sounds strange to some people, but when it hits 60 i'm wearing something really warm.

Hey, thanks a lot; I really appreciate your encouragement!

The rain finally came now, too.

I really am a weather wimp...

I'm glad I can make you smile.

Solidarity.
