My fight to surrender the hardest battle ever fought,
would He, could He, If He must;
Anxious and tied down with sorrow of what would become my lot,
His Yes or no, could I trust;
Can I follow Him or only that on which my heart is caught,
His bread or my crumbs of crust.
My fight to surrender has led to many nights and days of tears,
could I, should I, now submit;
Ambivalent of my decision and it's end brought many fears,
Would I be left in a pit;
Pictures rolling in my head suposing mind's voices as seers,
Walk in faith or fall and sit.
My fight to surrender ended in the sweetest victory,
Here I, Wept I, flag went up;
Anchored on the promise of surpassing peaceful mystery,
Then You, From You, filled my cup;
Omniscient caring Father and author of all history,
In His presence my soul sups.
My fight to surrender now but a thought,
Jesus' desire and will forever sought.
His grace has never been a disapointment,
His plans have always been rich anointment,
I will never grow tired of His love,
May I look to His ways always above.
