To carry on~*

I entered the new year
With my heart filled with hurt and despair

With a soul crying for mercy
With a voice screaming in my head

It would seem
That I had lost my way
Somewhere between December and January
Somewhere between the stroke of midnight
And the moment that is now

I still don’t know what happened
Guess I’ll never know
But somehow I was rescued
Now it’s up to me
To carry on....

Dearest Mausi, best friend and lover, I'm so glad I checked the site just once more before hibernating with my cat under my sarcophagus-lid of blankets; what a pleasant surprise to find this poem, another perfectly crafted and closely-written one from you, my most favorite poet (and person!).

I know I'm biased, because I'm in love with you, but I'm still ruthless about the art of poetry, and I swear to you that you really are a wonderful poet. As always, I can truly relate to what you are saying, and understand what you mean, but it is more than that, goes deeper than that; your use of language--and it's not even your first language; it is, I believe, your third--is truly artful and artistic. "Somewhere between the stroke of midnight / And the moment that is now" is a couple of lines I will always remember; I would be proud to write those lines! It is a memorable consideration of time, reminding me of Eliot (and that's always a good thing!).

You're a wonderful poet. You impress me every single day, every single time we talk, every single time I see another example of your artistry, whether visual or literary in expression.

So here we are, together... to carry on.

I love you, and I'm very proud of you.
Dara
