Transcendental Sonnet #394:
That We Learn Love

And now at last the light is returning
Sweet sunshine warm my body deep within
Warm this frame before its final burning
Internally from bones to blood to skin
As I would like to live before I die
I embrace you light of life in the sky

Welcome among us it has been too long
Since I have felt your kiss upon my cheek
Like a flightless bird I too raise my song
To celebrate and of a future speak
When we will all have light enough to see
How beautiful your light is from above
How beautiful life on this earth can be
Return and burn O light that we learn love
