hey.. im new to this site and just thought i would introduce myself.

my name is leash and i am 18 years old. i reside in bc, canada. i like watercolours, dark poetry, hockey, music, and nature among other things.

im looking forward to exploring the music and poetry forums. cool site.

I love plants, which must come under Nature, but which as yet have no apparent discussion herein!

Garden Thoughts

I'm sitting in my garden;
the bugs don't know that I exist.
So why do they always find me
and sting me on the wrist ?

Perhaps they inject inspiration
or extract it for their own use.
Whoops, there goes another wasp
I hope it ends up a recluse.

And why do plants keep on flowering
each time you cut off their pods ?
Its as though they were built to sow
infinite seeds just for their Gods.

Indeed if they have a religion
they set an example that man cannot follow.
They give pleasure to all that see them;
here comes a lump in my throat I can't swallow.

They give back all that they took from earth
and more, when they finally die.
But they do it, not changing the planet,
unlike man who will so rarely try.

i really liked the closing stanza.

humans are so destuctive and consumptive.. nature is just wonderful, isnt it?
