Dear Friends:
I stumbled upon this site while doing some personal research on nootropics. It is rather exciting that Mind-Brain.com supplies much more knowledge than just on nootropics. I am elated that there is even a forum for discussing such a wide range of topics.
For a little information about me, I am probably not as educated as many of you. So I apologize in advance if I ask naïve questions or if I post uninformed comments. I eventually want to find out answers to such questions as "What can I know?" and "What should I do?" I believe this site will help me.
I began my college career as a vocational student. Currently, to save some money, I am independently studying for CLEP exams so I can bypass some courses at the University of North Texas. In about a year and a half I want to begin at UNT as a double major in Philosophy and Information Science. I choose these since I am primarily interested in acquiring a broad knowledge base as a starting point. I believe that once I do this, I will have more confidence in deciding what I really want to be when I grow up.
I have tried to develop some assumptions to carry with me which also influence my degree choices. Neuroscience is probably being applied in Artificial Intelligence research, which is something that has probably already been widely discussed here. Since the implications of this are looking toward a Singularity, with my education I simply want to develop informed opinions that may be considered for the best possible development of AI.
Well, that really pretty much sums me up. I hope to make friends and I look forward to learning from you.
