I've gone through a series of revelations about myself and my being, read philosophy and created my own opinions, and stripped myself down to (i think) the raw and true me.

now what? i know who (rather what) i am, and no one else knows, or cares to know, and those that do can't understand the depths of awareness.

and another thing i've noticed is that all my opinions on things diminished. i used to have strong thoughts and argued my beliefs, but now it seems like nothing matters anyway, so why believe in something so much that you would waste energy persuing/defending it?

am i depressed or just plain crazy-- enquiring minds want to know.

hello Cheyenne,

let me start off by welcoming you here.  It's nice to have you join us.  Now what?  We initiate a dialogue with others joining in and sharing their point of view.  But that's not the question you were after, so let me take it up now in the proceeding.

It's difficult to assess your situation without additional information; I don't know your age, spiritual and intellectual backgrounds, personal experiences, and so on, and so no doubt I'm in a rather precarious position by venturing forth any sort of meaningful response to your query without being somewhat presumptuous,... but here goes!

When you ask, "Now what?", you make it seem like you've reached the end of some spiritual awakening, and that now you don't see anything left for you to realize or awaken to.  But I wouldn't be so cynical about things, and in fact have reason to be optimistic about the future.  Looking over your past, you'll no doubt see many instances of you seeing things from one perspective, and then being amazed when your perspective on things was subsequently shifted.  Why is your current situation any different?  You're seeing thngs from a certain perspective, and it's almost inevitable that this perspective will change sooner or later, depending partly on blind luck and also partly on how good you are at changing perspective thru your own methods.    The philosophers you've read about, to what extent have you seen thru their eyes?  It amazes me how they gave rise to and represent such vastly different world-views and perspectives....how is this possible?   More precisely, how is it possible when starting at the same (or similar) premises to arrive at completely different conclusions (i.e., worldviews, perspectives)?  And this isn't a trivial question, since one's world-view and perspective colors everything one experiences.  Indeed, they're the scaffolds onto which we construct interpretations about, and synthesize, our raw sensory perceptions and experiences.

Ok, i won't ramble anymore, but will just summarize my message:  The answer to your question "Now what?" is that you'll continue to experience revelations about yourself....it's a lifelong process.   There are certain things and experiences that will facilitate having revelations, and certainly if you're interested in having more, then I'd recommend doing everything you can to facilitate having more.  Are you really so certain that you've stripped yourself down to the raw and true you?  Look hard.

I don't think you're crazy, but we all experience our ups and downs, and even on occasion experience 'world-weariness'.   See the problem for what it is, merely a state of mind, a mood, and that by changing these, you'll change yourself.

take care,
Shawn

thanks for your thoughts, and i guess you're right. the revelations will be endless, but i wonder if it's worth it to know so many things. is life eaiser or harder if it's simpler to understand? would life be more fufilling if i didn't keep learning or looking through philosophers' eyes? why is wisdom better than folly?

As far as my spirituality goes, i've been raised christian (church of christ to be exact) all my life. But everywhere i look there are holes in the religion. And the main thing that turns me away from it is the fact that intelligence is never considered a virtue( and only really mentioned in Ecclesiastes- not exactly a book of encouragement). and that is why i find it hard to keep trecking and searching for new knowledge and new thoughts. I have no base for why i seek answers, but for some reason i continue-- so maybe i'm just easily discouraged.

Well , i can't add anything to what Shawn says, 'journey of discovery' and all that. Or to quote a T-shirt i once had, "Keep On Truckin'!"
And i don't think you're crazy.
Not to shamelessly pimp my own post or anything, but did you read Ego - The False Center /by Osho, that i posted over in psychology? It's right here:

I's kindofa long read but i think it's worthwhile. Maybe it'll help you see if you're done stripping down or not.
Anyway it's my foolish hope that the road to enlightenment is really the road to ultamate joyfullness, altho this may not be exactly true. In either case, i think you're on your way.

hi there

I think its great that you have reached  the third stage in human evolotion, the spiritual awareness stage.

I  understand you completely, what you should now be doing is applying that wisdom in your life and all those around you. I dont mean that you lecture or teach them, but merely show them love, paitence and understanding.

You will find by doing all this you will draw people to you, this is your chance to help others.

Believe me voicing your opinion isnt the way to go, but its about not voicing your opinion, but by been quite, if other wnat to listen then so be it, if they disagree then each to there own.

I was also bought up in a  christian church, although I am a very open mined person, I have read the koran and many other religous books.

My conclusion is the real church (temple) is in the person , keep there clean and holy. remember there are many different people and each to there own religion, but we are merely all just people looking for answers.

no one is perfect thus no chuch can be perfect, best to keep the true temple inside you holy.

There are so many people out there that need someon elike you to talk to ,  remember there is so much to learn. Like this book I once read  "wise is she that knows that she does not know"

use your gifts, not everyone can see clearly, not everyone can see past the hase or whats in front of them, not everyone can assess a sittuation from the fence, remember if you see it understand it, then use it, help others.

regards Rena

the mind is the most amazing thing!  Whatever you think of, you are that.   You can become whatever you want.

thank you all for your helpful comments. I guess i'll "keep on trucking" until i hit another road block. and Rena, i'm interested in the "3rd stage" of human awareness. how many stages are there? who thought of the system? what do they contain?

and just another question, how do you get motivated? what inspires you? why do you people stay here in the first place? why "keep on trucking"?

thanks-

Cheyenne

Do you really know alot if you read philosophy? the wisest of all philosopher socrates said " i know nothing". the philosophy that you are reading some are good and some are false. the false ones can kill the person's conscious if you put your heart in it.the true ones can revive your hope and energy knowing you have the creativity create a better world. unfortunely many modern day philosophers are babbling SAT vocabs and more sound like a monkey than human.  First we have to understand certain factions of philosophy, the romanticist- follow nature , human is ugly, learn from nature, be alone(they should live in stone age, since that's the most natural place and suffer pain by storm and earthquake because they refuse to do anything to control nature), then comes the ones who don't beleive anything thinking there's no absolute truth like gravity and etc.(they should read some history book about how humanity advance itself by understanding truth or the universe's natural laws to create modern machinery for abundance of food), at last is the best one and the most hopeful one which is classical philosphy created by socrates, leibniz and etc. classical state everyhuman possess the creative power to control the universe and can help himself through the understanding of universe's laws like gravity, machines and etc. therefore it's each human's mission to create a better world for the future generation by understanding and searching for truth(universe's laws).and fools will end in destruction, because they don't know anything or do the things they don't know. the wise may die early, but his contribution to the future make him eternal, and he dies with a smile. so  if you start reading plato's dialogure, follow the reasoning, then you will find the truth like he does and have hope knowing you are useful.

Yes, to know nothing is the greatest release from claims, argues, depressing or elevating moods. Just acceptance. And that too, how will _you_ do it? It happens ... or not.

Words are futile. An enterainment for mind. Like little birds sing all day. Like dogs bark. Words impress or express the mood of the moment. The truth right now. Here inside.

Maybe someone harmonize, words fit with other experiences.

What to do about depressive mood? Moods come and go. Just watching enuff. Even to watch, how will _you_ do it? Watching happens, happiness.

Just watch depressive mood, and start laughing. Did this happen? You watch your tears and start smiling?

Words, paint feelings. You agree? You disagree? It's you mood, isn't it?

What happens next?

Reply to n0boy:  to read plato's dialogue and to experience the process of socrates's discovery of the invisible truth. by the way, words aren't just mood, but are ideas for commmunications to ourl fellow human in a way of a better understanding of eachother's inner ideas in the time where telepathy isn't possible. everything has a source or cause and effect which is the foundation of  socrates's reasoning to discover such source and to use such source or the universe's law or the truth to expand man's power. using socratic reasoning one can identify the source of the depress feeling and how to cure it. As for specific process since everyone has different depress things in their heart ,they r no specific universal remedy in words.if you are interested, email me.
