Hi, my name is Dara Keenan and I am a new member to this site. I was recently shocked by my brother who sent me a link to this site. There is also another Dara Keenan (who I think is an administrator on this site) who has published some poetry that is in some parts line for line the same as mine!!! The only difference between this Doppelgänger and me is that she is a woman and I am a man. Oh yeah, and she's living in the U.S. and I'm living in the Republic of Ireland, in Dublin. If you read this, Dara, post a reply!!!

Anyway, as a quick introduction, my name is Dara. I'm 20 years old, studying at Trinity College, Dublin. I have many hobbies and interests and I am a bit of a chameleon. However, my eternal favourite things to do are: swimming, cycling, playing tennis, writing poetry, listening to music (of almost every and any sort), and practicing yoga.

I'm thinking of publishing some poetry on this site too and from what I've seen of this chat page so far, it is a wonderful thing. Well done!   ;D

Yowza!

I'm the other Dara Keenan's big brother, +Steven Curtis Lance.  My Dara is a beautiful girl of twenty-seven, who lives in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.  She is a passionate advocate for animals, a wonderful poet, and the best sister in the world.  She told me about you!  Isn't life strange?

Welcome among us, Dara.

My Dara and I did begin the forum here with the help of my dear friend Shawn Mikula.

I am so happy that you have come to be among us here!  Two Daras... "male and female created he them..."  Amazing.

Do post poetry among us, on my poetry board; I would be delighted.

Welcome among us, once again.

Merry meet and blessed be.
Patrick Keenan

I have many interests in Philosophy and Existence which i sometimes discuss with my brother Dara. Hey Dara, it's Dara! I always wondered what it would be like to have someone else with my name, and talk to them. Dara is very uncommon in the US, and I have only ran into one or two other Dara's in my life (females as well).

So gald you decided to join us here, and that you r brother Patrick sent you my link! I would LOVE to read some of your poetry, and even compare our writings together! That would be fun!

I hope you become ans active member at our site, you will find it a wionderful place to be!

Love,
Dara! wink.gif

Hi Everyone,

especially Shaun. You're photo makes you look very cute. Are you single?  ;)

It is so strange to see my "name twin" and her friends and my brother respond to my posting. I am fascinated.

A quick note for anyone who doesn't know, the origin of the name Dara is as follows: Irish "dó" meaning "two" goes to "dara" as an adjective, which means second.

So, Dara means second. In Irish runic tradition, this number is associated with balance, union of the male and female.

In my life, I don't know about your's, Dara, but the number 2 is of great significance. I was born on the 22/2. Numerologically, I am a 2. So are you, by the way. There are also many other ways in which the number two has been prevalent. Oh yeah, I'm a Pisces, two fish swimming in opposite directions!!!

On another note, the word dara came to mean "oak" or "oak tree" in some dialects of the Irish language. This is a symbol of strength, standing the tests of time and attaining great wisdom.

So, I gotta run. I'm going home from work now. Have a nice weekend, write back if you can!!!

Hey Dara!

It's Dara! WOW, here in the US, if you look up the name Dara it is a Hebrew name meaning posessed with wisdom and beauty! (I dont know how much of that is true in my case though!)

Well, for me, the number 2 is not significant, not that I am aware of anyhow. Oh, and Shawn is married by the way, though I am sure he is flattered you thought he is cute!

Nice talking to you  Dara! Want to hear something even stranger? A friend of mine works with a Daraugh Keenan, and he pronounces his name Dara! WOW, I tell you this is WEIRD!

Have a god day,
Love
Dara!
