This board has been created as a place to discuss the myriad different perspectives and conceptual structures that we can and do impose on our world of experience and sensations. It's a topic which has fascinated me for many years, though I haven't really discussed it at any length with others.
For example, one perspective may be characterized as the 'scientific worldview', which regards everything as, either quantum mechanically, as the collapsing of wave functions when we observe 'things' or events, or as classical fields and forces, where everything is the manifestation of mass-energy and space-time.
Another example may be characterize as the 'folk worldview', which is largely materialistic in outlook and regards individuals as separate entities interacting with a physical universe.
The point being that these examples are merely perspectives and worldviews devised for the purpose of allowing us to make sense of our environment and sensations. However, there are multiple ways to make sense of things, some more interesting and effective than others, and by sharing the different perspectives we can adopt, it broadens the manner in which we can choose to interpret our sensations and environment, and as such, forms a powerful motivation for developing and discussing different perspectives and worldviews. Hopefully, this board will realize that goal and broaden the repertoire of perspectives that we have at our disposal for interpreting our world and sensations.

I am pretty interested in the sensation of colour, from a philosophical, psychological, scientific, and artistic perspective. If any body out there has insightful information about colour and its application to the perceptual world, batter up.

Try getting a book dealing with the Luscher Color Test and another called Conscious Mapping - there may be more current and better stuff but these were of interest when I was an Art Director years ago. If you are interested in the uses of color in therapy that is also a great field and the Luscher book or approach will help.
