It's ok to just read and hopefully learn what you find useful.

You need to feel ready to write. But don't fear making mistakes. I'm a long in tooth now but one thing I learned long ago is 'if you ask a stupid question you won't stay stupid very long'. If you don't you will!

And if you write something that gets criticised, learn from it or ignore it or defend it based on your view. That's what everyone else does. Above all keep learning till you are sick of learning!
