I am crying like a child.
Tears of sadness and remembrance.
Tears for the innocence
That I lost that terrible day.
I don't want to remember
But the images
Have been burned into me.....

Clear September skies
Pierced by smoke
Born of hatred and ignorance.
Faces,
Covered by ashes
Mixed with anguished tears.
Police,
And Firefighters
Running into burning towers
Becoming fallen heroes
In a matter of seconds.
Soldiers
And Civilians
Fleeing the crippled symbols
Of our country's might.
A single plane.
The words, "Let's roll!"
Symbols of the heroes
That many became that day.

I am crying
Tears that I once refused to cry.
Tears,
That now,
I have to cry....
For those that were lost,
And for those who still remain.
For the heroes
On the ground,
And in the sky.
For my Country.
For my People.
For my Family,
And for my Friends.
For all who felt the pain
Of that cruel September Day....
I am crying.
