THE PEOPLE'S FESTIVAL
CORNWALL COASTAL CAMP
(Cornwall, South-West England)

Unofficial and most probably would be challenged under the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2000, yet, if achieved, such would be the most spoken of Peace movement in history. The only way such a festival to occur would be if the people whom wish upon Peace were to spontaneously descend to a given location at a specific time in unprecedented numbers. Maybe the entire Cornish coast could be a good loaction. When? The summer of course.
To research the practicalities and as to whether or not there is any public interest, I ask you whether or not you personally would proceed to such a Festival Camp, either as a visit or even to reside. If you will repsond, note that it is not an opinion that I require at this time, only a definative answer. There are no obligations should you reply or not.

To respond, please send a BLANK e-mail to peoples_festival@hotmail.com giving either YES or NO as a SUBJECT, depending on whether you would consider attending. Those that reply with a yes would be updated with current statistics regarding the poll, and also provided with further information once more is known about the possibilities of such a Festival Camp.

If you have a particular comment or question, please email by putting COMMENT or QUESTION as a SUBJECT.

PEACE!

Seems like this event would be more aptly named "The Proletariats' Festival".

Got this info from the Edinburgh Peoples' Festival website:

"The Edinburgh People's Festival was originally created in 1951, by a group who felt that the official festival was becoming elitist and hijacked by the 'Edinbourgoisie'. Hamish and a committee comprising other famous names such as Ewan Macoll and Hugh MacDiarmid together with the Trades Council, miners union, Labour and Communist parties, put on the first festival in 1951."

Ewan Maccoll = Communist playwright

Hugh MacDiarmid = Communist essayist

Vive la marxisme, I guess... :smile.gif
