Whisper of a Lullabye

Rest now my weary child, for your task has been great.
Weep silently in the arms of Jesus, Heaven can wait.
Your fallen comrades souls, are safely tucked away,
Know I feel your sorrows, and listen as you pray.
This lullabye I whisper is silence from above,
Hold tightly to the hand of Christ, filled with His love.
I'll guide you, protect you, comfort your fears,
I offer you a moments peace, while your visions I clear.
No explanations I'll give, as this tragedy unfolds,
This act of cowardice, murder, contemplated and cold.
You wear a hero's boot filled with strength and pride,
And I've fortified determination, as you've set and cried.
That ash covered helmet, will become a reminder of the pain,
Of the multitudes of heros, so senselessly slain.
You'll wear it with new dignity, their memories to sustain,
While they await you in Heaven, for they'll not have died in vain.
This day will come to pass, leaving blemishes on your heart,
But time did not stop, you'de began healing from the start.
Cling to my shoulder, for all that you'll need,
Although you'll never forget, you'll move forward with life's deeds.
