When I open the door of yesterday
a little ghost comes rushing in
Scared afraid and all alone
not knowing where she fits in
I want so much to talk with her
I hear her voice almost everyday
Crying over something lost
of what she did not say.
She points me to the bedroom mirror
I wonder what she sees?
I walk over and take a peek
but staring back is ME!!
The ghost in the mirror
Im sure has always been me
Mourning a lost childhood
and this is sometimes hard to see
But today this ghost isnt such an illusion
And I don't cry alone
Together we embrace what we lost
and call my heart her home..

Beautiful and sad...I wish you didnt have to write such a poem based on experiences, but I am glad you shared them with us!

I can understand all too well what you have written about. I also mourn the loss of my childhood, and wonder what would I be like today if my past were different? But, all the wondering in the world will not change things, so here we are, just as always! I am just glad to have the support and understanding of many people who have suffered teh same.

Maybe you will feel like writing here about your experiences? When you are ready, I will be here to listen...

Love,
Dara

Hello and thankyou for reading :-)

I agree we can not go back , but we can work through our issues and in that find some healing

good luck to you through your journey!

our journeys need not be alone.....

if we want to share them! Or perhaps seek help in understanding what on earth went on.

I'm travelling happily now, and am prepared to share in experiences by PM if necessary. I can guarantee confidentiality - mind you, there are things I could never tell anyone I didn't know.

Hope to get to know all members a lot better as man continues to add to the problems of Nature! I know man is part of nature too, but in a sense I regard Nature as everything NOT created by man.

All the best, Bill.
