Well, we found out Friday morning at 8:58 AM that Tyler got the funding needed to go to that residential school. Though I have mixed feelings about it, I know this is for the best... I think... At least it's close to home, and it will be easy for me to be there a lot. I think there will be a better atmosphere for him if I can be really involved. Does anyone have any input on this? It's just such a huge change, and happening very fast... he'll be there by June 12th... I guess I just wanted to post and tell someone who might understand what I'm going through. :'( Thanks!

Danielle,
I am so sorry i know this is hard for you but you are a wonderful parent and you are doing what you feel is best for your son and that is all anyone should ever ask of you. This most likely will be the best idea for him and though it may seem difficult now your son may look back on this and thank you someday. PLease know that you are not a failure as a parent. You are just accessing outside help for the benefit for your son and i am glad you updated here and remember you have the love and support of all of us here at Mind-brain including me. i may not totally understand but I empathize with your situation and from your posts I learn more about autism through the eyes of a parent who has a special child with autism....It is so nice to share your storyt and your courage. Good luck and we all love you and look forward to hearing more good news.
Love always,
Chrissy

Danielle,
I think Chrissy speaks for all of your friends here. And what a beautiful speaker she is, with her poetic words and sentiments.
Tyler's blessed to have such a loving mother, and you're lucky to have that sweet little boy in your life and heart.

Danielle,
That is wonderful news! I hope it works out for the best for Tyler and your family. It is good that the program is close to home, so you can visit him often. I believe you are doing the best thing for your boy, please keep us updated!
