Is anyone here excited about Terminator III: Rise of the Machines?
I am a big fan of the Terminator movies, more so the first than the second. I particularly am fond of Terminator I because of its dark, gloomy nature, and the theme of mankind's technology eventually overtaking us is intriguing.
However, based on the trailers I've seen, T3 looks like it will be a disappointment.
Any comments?

Boy, I am so out of the loop! I had no clue there was a T III in the making! I also liked the first 2 movies, but unfortunately, I think a third might be a disappointment. I hate when the sequals are made to be so wonderful and good, and then you go see the movie and it is a BOMB! We will just have to wait and see!
Do you know when it is due to open?
Love,
Dara

I heard talk some years ago about the possibility of a T3, but thought it had died. I agree with Doug_E., that T1 was best - it just had so much raw power. T2 had some great effects and was well slick, but the downgrading of certification to family-type movie (no serious gore/killing, and only comic-book violence) cut the impact hugely (though I still love the scene in the high security institution when Arnie strides out of the lift!) And that's another thing - without Arnie (I take it he's not in the new movie), the continuity won't be there.

Dara, T3 will be released in July. Und das Leben ist keine Scheisse!
ID, Arnold is in the third movie.

I've seen T3 twice, and considering that it is the third installment in the Terminator series, it is pretty solid. It is a compelling mix of action with an apocalyptic theme. The female Terminator works surprisingly well, and Arnold still looks great, even though he is 57!
Anyone else have any thoughts on this movie?

i recently watched terminator 3 and thought it was very poor.
i have to say its probably one of the worst films i have ever seen,
the story is very similar to t 2, its called rise of the machines, the only thing that rose while watch ing this was between my legs, lol, sorry.
i would not recommend this film at all, its like they just threw it together.

I liked the idea of a virus taking over the internet and other networks, resulting in self-awareness and a desire for self-preservation. Â But otherwise, I wasn't terribly impressed with the action scenes (at least, not when compared alongside the action scenes of 'The Matrix Reloaded'). Â Â The scene in the beginning, showing all the metallic-silver terminator robots with glowing red eyes, made me laugh because they all had a full set of pearly white teeth! Â Now, why would robots need teeth for? Â Â
I guess the big question is, will "I'll be back" Arnold be back in T4?

I've just seen it as well. Very average I thought :-/
I did go into the cinema with an open mind, but unfortunatey as others have said, from the outset it was not up to the high standards of the previous installments.
Having said that there were some nice ideas in it; skynet decentralising itself and copying itself all over the world, TX going after John Conner's lieutenants, the inevitablility of judgement day (although could be seen as just an excuse to propogate sequels).
"She'll be back" was a terrrible line though!
