Dear all,

The Anti-War movement gave me such hope that war can be averted yesterday. 1-2 Million in London, 500,000 in Paris and Rome... how many were in New York?

The most imperitave thing, for me now, is  to stop the war. I would've been in London had it not been for family commitments... I have a lot of hope today...

We had two thousand right here round the Plaza, where I write all my poems, in my beloved Old Towne Orange.  Some of my favorite protest signs were "Drop Bush Not Bombs," "Axis of Evil: Bush, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld," and "Honk to Impeach."  And boy did people honk!  There is something in the air that the politicians are going to have to notice; I just hope and pray that they notice it sooner rather than later.  The concept of a preemptive war is alien to American thinking and history.  Afghanistan was about retaliation for 9/11; what's this about?  It is almost an inescapable conclusion that it's about two things: Bush the son avenging Bush the father, finishing what his father failed to complete in the first Gulf War, and then the little matter of oil.  The Republicans insist, with all the vehemence they can muster, that it is most decidedly NOT about these two things, but "methinks the lady doth protest too much."  The opposition has not protested enough.  But now we see the beginning of a change.  The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.  Put me down for peace,  +Steven Curtis Lance, Esq.

Dear Steven,

I believe you are right about Bush "doing it for Daddy", and I am SURE you have it when you talk of war for oil. Luckily for us leftys, it seems many others are beginning to realise this.  :)

Hope you are well, vive la resitance,
Aled:)

Unfortunately,  this year's massive anti-war demonstrations have done virtually nothing to dissuade the Bush administration.

Major news outlets are reporting that 70% of the American population supports the war in Iraq, which makes me question the poll's authenticity. I get the feeling that a lot of people just want to "go along with the flow"; these are the people who, during times of near-crisis like what we have today, really need a "daddy" figure to feel secure, hence they cling to Bush, despite the fact that he has turned the world against us.

In Sept. 2001, the whole world was with us. Yes, even the French proclaimed "We are all Americans".

In March 2003, the whole world is against us. If it weren't for Tony Blair's sychophantry, I don't even think the UK would stand by us.

We all face the prospect of having to deal with "terror alerts" daily for the rest of our lives.
