As you all know recently Sadams two sons, Uday and Qusay, were killed in some time in July (or June I cant remember) by U.S forces.
The pictures of their dead bodies were shown to the Iraqi people to prove that they were dead etc.
But why were (UK, US, Everywhere else in the world) shown these pictures on the news and in the papers.
You also probally known that there were cases over the past months where British and American troops were killed and their bodies were brodcasted by Saddams army. This caused disgust and was declared an outrage (which it was) to show the dead bodies of soldiers fighting for what they think is right.
But how hypercritical of us is it to do exactly the same back.
It is disrespectful and unneeded. We didn't NEED to see them so why did we?
Does anybody else agree with me?
(If you know why we were shown please comment because I am intrested to know)

we (non-iraqis) didn't need to see them, but Iraqis did because for them seeing is believing. However, I will say that we didn't need to put putty in their faces and make them look like wax figures. that was stupid

i think what gets to most people is the hypocrisy!
there seems to be one rule for us and another for them.
politicians and people in high office have a lot to answer for.
everything these days seems to have a spin put on it.
you get a sour taste in your mouth, you feel like you haven't been told everything, so many lies floating about.
how is one to believe anything they say.

yes, hypocrisy is terrible. Â However, hypocrisy runs deep on all sides and reflects the 'psychological' component of competition (and, ultimately, warfare). Â To take the highhorse and cut all hypocrisy while others may not is to run a great risk, a risk that is in no way guaranteed to pay off. Â We live in a complex world, and people are just way too limited to really see the big picture although they righteously profess their opinions as if they do. Â The hypocrisy of self-righteous individuals can be most overwhelming to me.

the world complex,
you sound very patronizing to me.
things are never straight forward but i always believe the truth to be the best policy.
i maybe naive but a lot problems do originate from a lie.

you'd have to know the truth to implement it. Many problems originate from people who think they know the truth while they do not

gosh, dan!
i was just about to get on my high-horse!
but if i can let go of self-righteousness, all i got left is fear and sadness. i kno i cant see the big picture, but what i can see makes me afraid for myself and my family and my people, and it makes me sad for everything that seems so terrible and wrong to me.
and when i see pictures of dead boys, no matter whos sons they are, it just about makes me cry.
but pictures or no pictures im still afraid and sad

the truth is the truth!
if i show you an apple and say its an orange, is that not a lie?
Many problems originate from people who think they know the truth while they do not
you cannot think you know the truth, that is you dont know!
if you think its the truth then there is doubt! therefore it cannot be the truth.
when there is doubt, surely the truth cannot come from doubt.its a lie then?

If I show you an apple and say it tastes good, is that true or a lie?

doubt and certainty do not determine the truth, they only determine how doggedly one will defend their beliefs. Â If I doubt the apparent law of gravity, is it then untrue? Â If I am certain that pigs (or Joe) can fly, is it then true?

Yeah, good thing you didn't, those animals are dangerous when they're on the dope.
I think it's good that we finally see some death in the newspapers that is of non-american nationality. We have the death tally going for american and british soldiers but the media conglomerates conveniently left out the number (a bit higher than our own, methinks) of iraqi murder victims.
I say put more pictures of dead iraqis in the newspapers so that the general public realizes just how many lives are being destroyed by this illegal invasion of iraq. It's very sad that anyone of any nation should die at the will of greedy politicians.
