Welcome, everyone, to the quotes board.
Just to get things started, I'll post a few of my favs:
'Can you sympathize with an exploding star?!'
'We are the universe conscious of itself'
And a quote by Nietzche that I love:
'Oh, how tired I am of insufficiency!'
My best,

Here's one I've always liked from Herman Melville:
"Great God I ask thee for no meaner pelf*
Than that I might not disappoint myself."

'Is this the real life-
Is this just fantasy-
Caught in a landslide-
No escape from reality-
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see-
Im just a poor boy,i need no sympathy-
Because Im easy come,easy go,
A little high,little low,
Anyway the wind blows, doesnt really matter to me,
To me'
Freddie Mercury

Ha! ha! I admire a person who is capable of looking in retrospect and still likes what he sees as he views himself and the way he was at some point in his own past. I know I can't pull that trick.

I assume that our universe did indeed appear from nowhere about 10^10 years ago....I offer the modest proposal that our universe is simply one of those things which happen from time to time. ----> Edward Tryon

Have you heard the recent Flaming Lips version (available from iTunes for 79 UK pence)? I think the guitars were on drugs, but it sounds great.

I would love to hear any version of that song. Except I don't even know what 'flaming lips' means. Anything to do with The Rolling Stones' famous, ever-present (in their paraphanelia) fat lips smile ?
