Anyone much about zinc as something to aid in concentration
and mental function? I've been taking these zinc lozenges
(which do happen to have a small amount (60mg) of vitamin C as well) in the morning and they do seem to allow me to focus on my work a little better. I found this:

hi Matthew, nice to have you here. I've only heard about zinc being used to reduce the number of days that you're sick with the common cold, though I'll see if I can find anything else online. The pubmed abstract you posted about zinc increasing concentration was only referring to people who were deficient in zinc and that subsequently received zinc supplements, though this would exclude anyone who's not deficient and already takes a multi-vitamin daily.

Yes, I see what you are saying. I suppose
I was implying maybe that taking perhaps higher doses
of zinc would afford anyone these advantages. But perhaps in my case, and in the case of those in that study and some other anecdotal pieces I have read, the benefits of the zince are merely due to eliminating the deficiency. In any event, I think if I look at my diet there's little chance I was actually getting the RDA, so my supplementation is probably needed anyway.
