Snakes on a Bus
The python gesticulated
She wanted me to see
Her skin was reticulated
But her eye was on me
Had you to kill the cow yourself
You might decide not to
And eat (from boxes off your shelf)
Things not at all like you
Reticulated pythons might
Enjoy some bites of us
If chickenless some summer night
While waiting for the bus
An omnivore near fifty-four
Who now eats plants by choice
Cows need not feed me anymore
And chickens can rejoice
Reticulated pythons though
In search of lunch feel free
To eat some cow some chicken or
Some omnivore we know
Metabolism running slow?
Best think fast if you see
Reticulated pythons go
To university
They like to ride the bus and take
Their classes in the cool
Of evening with a dinner-break
Since they eat more at school
Snakes on a bus are not the kind
Of subject one might like
But out of sight is out of mind
So I just ride my bike...
