First of all, i understand that this might be posted in the wrong forum, but i dont know which fits the best and the question is nootropic related, but feel free to move it if there is a better place for the thread.

So... Since the beginning of April, i have been experimenting with different nootropics, and with each and everyone of them i have had either slight or grave sleep disturbances. With piracetam (700mg-2g/day) i would wake up at night, and my sleep was extremely light, i was half conscious at times, i got somnolence and insomnia. With huperzine (100mcg/day, 200mcg once) it was essentially the same as piracetam, though i did not use it for more than three or four days because of the messed up sleep and somnolence it caused. Next up was ashwagandha(300mg/day), it too would mess me up, though it is supposed to mimic/boost GABA ans thus make one sleepy or at least mellow, but instead i got insomnia and light sleep. For the last two weeks i have only used bacopa (300-600mg/day), and it has been quite okay, perhaps slight insomnia at times but mostly it has been alright. I have noticed that when i pull down the blinds i sleep a lot better so i do that every night. But last night i slept really bad, i was half conscious all night and knew when it was time to wake up.

What can i do? It makes no sense that i sleep worse when i use ashwagandha and bacopa, which are supposed to make you mellow/sleepy. I can understand why i cant fall asleep with huperzine since it boosts acetylcholine levels, but piracetam makes no sense either, according to research, insomnia and sleep disturbances with piracetam are extremely rare.

What can it be and what can i do?
Please dont answer "Then dont use the supplements?!" unless there is _no_ other way.
