Hi all,

I've decided I want to give liquid Deprenyl Citrate a try. It sounds like an awesome drug.
I've got some serious ADD and motivation issues, and I thnk it might be very helpfull.

The thing is, I also take Kratom for some very troublesome chronic pain issues I have.

I've read about Deprenyl being a MAOI something or other, and Kratom also being an MAOI effecting substance, so I want to make sure I wont have any nasty side effects taking the two.

I intend to take a verrry low dose of the deprenyl ( 1-2mg 3X a week), so even if there is a 'clash' of sorts, from what I've read, this may not be an issue.

Sorry to post this, but my searches on this and other forums have yielded paltry results.

If any of you guys have taken the two together or know someone who has (or have read a detailed report), I'd truly appreciate some info.

Thanks all, and best of luvk to you in all things

First I would strongly suggest researching anything you plan on taking to a far greater extent than you appear to have done.

Generally deprenyl's effective dose for ADD is 5-10 mg daily if you plan to treat your condition. Starting low is always a good idea.

Kratom effects mostly the opiate receptors and has no note worthy MAO inhibiting effects.

Do you have a chronic disorder?

Thanks Lifemirage,

Busted: my search skills are somewhat lacking smile.gif

I'm not all that knowledgeable when it comes to scientific (or whatever else would be appropriate) terms..

I've been doing my best to research this stuff, and came upon posts in which people discuss Kratom as being somehoe MAOI-ish, and found infor about about Selegiline being an MAOI-b something, but not major.

Just diong my best to figure this stuff out.

If I go the Deprenyl route, I want to take a low dosage, as I've read reports about people getting beneficial effects with small doses, even when it comes to libido and motivation/focus...

I've actually found one post (finally) in which one person says they have taken KRatom and Deprenyl without any deleterious side effects....

As for the pain:
I do have a chronic condition. It can be filed under TMJ, but it doesn't have as much to do with the muscles of my jaw, but rather my shoulders, upper back and neck... thought the muscles in my jaw and temple do hurt...(the TMJ diagnoses came about because after seeing tons of Drs. I was refered to a cranio Facial Pain center at a dental school, and my insurance refuses to cover it. TMJ is more of a catch-all diagnoses for the shit I deal with)

The pain can best be described as : burning, aching, with occasional muscle spasms...

I take SOMA for it at night, but I don't take it in the day because it effects me...

I also see a physical therapist for it (as some of my pain is due to muscle balances, tendon tightness etc...), but my ability to do stretches etc... is inconsistent, as even though they help, sometimes even the gentlest of stretches cause serious pain and spasms...

I take the Kratom because it is less sedative than opiate pain killers, plus, Drs. are hesitant to prescribe them...

Please excuse my horrible grammer etc... I 've got a nasty flu sad.gif

I've been reading extensively about liquid deprenyl and considered ordering some until I read that the most effective form is no longer available, i.e., liquid deprenyl citrate. I've read that the company that first synthesized the stable form of seligiline (by adding the organic citrate) was wiped out by the FDA for marketing a alleged drug as a "natural compound". The company owner was jailed (Jay Kimball) for 13 years! He has a web site that makes some disturbing accusations about the fake LDC marketed today - he goes on to claim that ALL other selegiline available worldwide is really selegiline hydrochloride, you can read his claims over at liquid-deprenyl dot com

So, I don't really know what to think or do at this point, because the best liquid deprenyl is nearly 80 bucks per bottle! I'm going to email some anti-aging doctors and see what they know or are willing to share about the controversy. I think I will also try contacting CERI (Cognitive Enhancment Research Institute) as well, they were caught up in the legal battle in the late 90's for promoting LDC for DEDI, the Co. that first offered LDC.

Anyways, I'm dying to get to the bottom of this, and I'm tempted to move ahead and acquire the "alleged" LDC called cyprenil and see what it can do. So then, does anyone know about this situation? Has anyone tried selepryl or cyprenil and found either product to have good efficacy? They're "supposedly" bunk, whom to believe, you know? It seems wise to sometimes have a somewhat skeptical outlook with respect to the motives of "Big Pharma" due to historically observed avariceness, but the natural remedies industry can exploit sick people desperate for treatment options too - sigh, it's frustrating trying to determine who's telling the truth when you only have limited information, and to add insult to injury, the limited information you do manage to acquire may not even be objective information!

Well anyhow, after all that being said, leonine77 did you ever purchase LDC? Inquiring minds want to know! Ok, that's it for now, hope someone out there can enlighten the curious among us . . .

liquid deprenyl is not approved by any gov nor has been researched to any degree that is known. It should be avoided.
